Very Fun and Educational
I really liked how down to earth and human this whole experience was, since, ultimately, that is who Scrum is for! Even though it was a short class, I feel adequately knowledgeable on passing the PSM I Exam. Huge shoutout to Richard and Phil for being patient with teaching yet challenging us to critically think in order to grow. 10/10 Class. Would take again (if I didn't know what Scrum was).

The best training I have ever taken (no exaggeration!)
I have worked at my company for over 7 years and have taken a few trainings. Each one I walked away feeling like the training either was so far off my day-to-day environment that I couldn't apply any of the tools OR did not apply to my job function at all and was pointless.
the Scrum.org PSPO training is by far the best training I have ever had. Not only did Richard talk us through Agile, its functions, and the role of a Product Owner, but we spent ample time in break out sessions and class discussion to apply what we were learning in our day-to-day. Matt was a wonderful addition to the class as a current Wells Fargo Agile Coach too.
I now have tools to not only improve my position but also help influence and guide my partners.
Thank you Richard for an amazing two days! I was sad when it came to an end.

Great Class!
I thought this was a great class! I have not used Scrum in the past, but I have heard about it and knew it was being used by some project groups in my company. Most of my responsibilities are of a application support nature. My team supports several applications so it I not sure how well Scrum would work with our team for that reason. However, I think this is important tool to managing a successful project and I'm sure I will use it in the future.

Excellent in-depth coverage of Professional Scrum in an applied technical setting
I've known Richard Hundhausen, the instructor, for some years in the LeSS community, and this was the first class that I've taken from him and from Scrum.org. The course was entirely online, yet we managed to connect well.
We had 18 people online in several timezones, which from experience I can say is a facilitation and teaching challenge. Richard handled the challenge masterfully.
The good organisation of time, (lots of) content and interactions as a full group and in 3 smaller breakout groups was intense; Richard went deeply into Scrum from a developer's perspective and reinforced the idea of a fully cross functional Scrum team, inclusive of PO, SM and developers. The course was well aligned with the "new, new" (2020) Scrum Guide, and unlike a typical scrum master or PO certification, combined theory and exercises about Scrum with a very nice applied programming problem that we attacked as a small team in 3 75 minute Sprints to produce increments and to provide a good context for applying scrum rules, development practices and creating a Scrum team that actually was able to gel in a short period of time.
Richard was able to go very, very deep on many topics and was very responsive to questions and comments. As he said and others seconded, the course could have gone on for 5 days instead of just 3, and it would have been a good use of time, even for a very experienced agilist (not my first rodeo).
Thomas Schissler, who is one of the Scrum.org stewards for the course, was invited to teach the section on emergent architecture, and I also really appreciated his teaching style and the content. We were also lucky to have Thomas on our Scrum team, the Sharpies, as an especially strong team member who encourages learning by example and by doing.
Thanks Richard, and also Thomas, for an excellent course! And thanks, too, to the whole interactive and collaborative group, many fine minds and good people.

Any developer who really wants to work with Scrum and DevOps practices should participate. The course combines practices, tools, development and of course Scrum so you can experience all of these things in "real world" mode.
Also very useful for the other roles of a Scrum Team (with a limited technical background).
Thanks Richard!

Great class, and I am sure that we will need this is the future.
I do believe there should be a pre-req for taking certain courses because it can cause folks allot for confusion if they do not know the Scrum Framework or the foundations.
I also believe the classes for online are just way too long. 8 hours is not something folks will want to do after Covid-19 restrictions are fully lifted, so may tweak it a bit.
Richard and Charles are awesome and I feel better knowing they are out in the professional world. :)

I've been working with scrum teams for a better part of 10 years. Each team incorporates scrum differently but have maintained the framework accurately. This class gives you the information for the parts that may be missing or misunderstood. The instructor was excellent as he gave the team ample time to discuss the current topics and we never felt rushed to move on if topics continued for longer than they should have. Recommend for even the most seasoned veterans of scrum.

APS-SD course from 6 to 8 April 2021 with Richard Hundhausen
I attended the Scrum.Org APS-SD course from 6 to 8 April 2021 with Richard Hundhausen as a (great) trainer in a collaborative environment
Any developer who really wants to work with Scrum and DevOps practices should participate. The course combines practices, tools, development and of course Scrum so you can experience all of these things in "real world" mode.
Also very useful for the other roles of a Scrum Team (with a limited technical background).
Thanks Richard!

Awesome APS-SD class by Rich Hundhausen…
Awesome APS-SD class by Rich Hundhausen & Thomas Schissler. I loved Rich Hundhausen's style, delivery & humor. Thomas Schissler's section was eye opening also. APS-SD with Rich and/or Thomas is the best Scrum workshop on offer. The workshop was really engaging, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you, Rich and Thomas!

I enjoyed learning
I enjoyed learning
Great class, and I am sure that we will need this is the future.
I do believe there should be a pre-req for taking certain courses because it can cause folks allot for confusion if they do not know the Scrum Framework or the foundations.
I also believe the classes for online are just way too long. 8 hours is not something folks will want to do after Covid-19 restrictions are fully lifted, so may tweak it a bit.
Richard and Charles are awesome and I feel better knowing they are out in the professional world. :)

Amazing class from Rich
Amazing class from Rich! His ability to take complex challenges and translate those into simple understandable concepts is key to his success as a trainer. One of the best trainers I've been involved with and we will continue to request him as our official Scrum trainer.

The class exceeded my expectations
The class exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed the opportunity to have the class with many members of my team and be able to discuss real world issues we have together. I found those pieces and the review of the scrum framework more valuable than the breakout sessions overall, but the class was very good all around. Thank you!

Rich is by far, one of the best Scrum trainers I've seen in the past 10 years. Whenever anyone asks me who I would recommend, I send them to Rich. His ability to not only deliver the content but also help get others unstuck to situations first thought were impossible to Scrum, is unmatched by anyone else. I only wish we could clone Rich and deploy him across our entire enterprise to assist us with our new Agile Transformation Strategy.

Great overview
I've been working with scrum teams for a better part of 10 years. Each team incorporates scrum differently but have maintained the framework accurately. This class gives you the information for the parts that may be missing or misunderstood. The instructor was excellent as he gave the team ample time to discuss the current topics and we never felt rushed to move on if topics continued for longer than they should have. Recommend for even the most seasoned veterans of scrum.

The instructor was honest and quite funny. He challenged us to question status quo and how we attempt to SCRUM at Insperity.

The integration of Azure DevOps and Mural revolutionizes the visualization and management of Product Backlog items. Mural acts as a versatile front-end for Azure DevOps Services (as well as Jira), empowering Scrum Teams to forge interactive visual roadmaps and creatively handle work items using a variety of templates, such as the "Now, Next, Later" template. This combination enhances collaboration and facilitates strategic planning for both current and upcoming sprints. While the potential for visualization is vast, there are some notable limitations in the integration that merit further exploration.

The blog post suggests that Professional Scrum Product Owners should leverage Hypothesis-Driven Development (HDD) to make data-informed decisions, enhancing Scrum’s iterative nature. HDD is presented as a complementary practice that starts with a hypothesis which guides the Scrum Team's actions based on empirical evidence and user feedback, particularly for risky and/or expensive features. It also outlines steps for integrating HDD into Azure DevOps, advocating its use to ensure development aligns with business goals and user needs.

This post provides guidance for conducting a Nexus Sprint Review, a key component of the Nexus Scaled Scrum Framework (or any scaled Scrum implementation) aimed at enhancing inspection and adaptation for large-scale agile development. Dissatisfied with existing guidance, I decided to share my insights on how to structure these reviews to facilitate integrated feedback on the work done by the Nexus (the team of teams). It outlines the replacement of individual Scrum Team Sprint Reviews with a Nexus-wide review focusing on the integrated increment and suggests employing a "Sprint Review Bazaar" to cater to stakeholders' diverse interests through a diverge-converge approach. This method encourages detailed inspections and feedback in breakout rooms, analogous to visiting booths at a science fair or car show, thereby increasing transparency and engagement. The post also provides a detailed sample agenda for a 2.5-hour Nexus Sprint Review, emphasizing the importance of flexibility and adaptation during execution.

As a travelling Scrum and DevOps consultant I’m constantly asked “should our team use Scrum”? Now you might think that being a Professional Scrum Trainer – and serious Scrum fanboy – I would always answer “Yes!”. Well, you would be wrong. I frequently talk people out of Scrum – for the right reasons.
Professional Scrum Trainers know how hard it is for a team to adopt and practice Scrum successfully. Therefore, we want to make sure the nature of the work is right for the Scrum framework. To that end, I’ve come up with five simple, mostly non-scientific, yes/no questions that I use to survey the inquisitor.
My Five Questions
Do you have at least three technical people to do the work?
Are you developing a product/increment? (vs. just doing one-off/unrelated work)
Is the majority of the work large enough to require a team? (vs. smaller, individual task-sized work)
Is the majority of the work complex? (per the Stacey model)
Is the majority of the work plannable? (vs. unplanned/support type of work)
If the person answers “yes” to all 5 questions, then I’ll recommend they move forward with Scrum. If there are 3 or 4 “yes” answers, the Scrum framework will probably help the team yield results, but they may experience some friction and waste. If there are only 1 or 2 “yes” answers, the Scrum framework will be more overhead than helpful.
It’s Not About Effort
None of my questions include any culture, behavior, or type-of-industry questions. I don’t really care about their existing management structure, level of trust, technical debt, if they have remote team members, or whether they are a government agency or financial institution. Those attributes relate more to the level of effort required for Scrum adoption to become successful. The five questions are more about the nature of the work and less about the current level of dysfunction the team or organization is experiencing (or causing).
Putting my consultant hat back on, the five questions tell me whether I should proceed with a Scrum training/coaching engagement or “fire the customer” before I get started. Follow-up questions about the culture, current behavior, and environment will tell me how much effort will be required. Incidentally, those are not simple yes/no questions, but an understanding that evolves over multiple in-person conversations and assessments.
Conclusion
My five questions are not weighted equally. For example, if someone answers “yes” to four questions, but answered “no” to having at least three technical people to do the work, then it may be a non-starter. Since opinions will vary on the weighting of these questions, I recommend using them purely as a guideline for your own questions or assessment.
