Suggestion: probational forum membership
Might I suggest a probational entry level of forum membership, under which new postings must first be approved by a forum administrator before being listed? The recent spam problem is becoming a bit wearing.
Only once a few bona fide posts have been submitted, should a contributor be granted new member status and allowed to post as normal.
Hi Ian
Agreed.
It would give the admin more work of course inspecting and adapting.
If the result is a forum with less spam then would work or at least reduce it.
Michael
Another thing which I just suggested after flagging the spam, was to immediately terminate that user's account when the posting is so off-topic that it can't possibly be construed as being SCRUM or Agile-related - like getting fake driver's licenses.
It can get a little more difficult when people post an advertisement in disguise - for example, saying Product XYZ is a great Backlog management tool. But in those cases, if the poster goes overboard on the selling, a warning could be issued. If that user gets X number of warnings, s/he is out.
Actually, regarding the advertisement postings, perhaps Scrum.org should capture and not post those and send the poster an advertising rate chart. Or scrum.org could have a Tools page and Services page. Could be chargable or not. Each of these could have a Reviews section, but things can get out-of-hand quickly (false reviews by the Tool or Service creator; false reviews by a competitor...).
On a funny note:
No one has asked the question, are Scrum.org certifications included in that list
or alternative B
Is this a question in the PSM exam and if so what is actual answer from the 30 fake documents in the list.
;-)
Hello All,
We would certainly agree that this recent issue has become a bit wearing and that it is unacceptable. We have already taken some measures to address this issue, but also plan to promptly elevate our level of action in response to this concern. In the interim, we thank you kindly for your great suggestions and also for maintaining a good sense of humor. :-)
Enjoy your day!
