government regulatory projects in agile
Does agile works for government mandated projects ? I see my client is implementing such kind of forced regulatory projects in sprints. Does it really require that way ?
Knowing that an effort is a "government-mandated project" is insufficient to determine if Agile methods in general or Scrum specifically would be a useful approach. How stable are the requirements? How involved are the key stakeholders or reasonably proxies for the key stakeholders? How much visibility does the management team or the customer require? Is the team stable and cross-functional? How familiar is the team with the context? Answers to questions like this would be better to help understand what development life cycles would be most appropriate.

Regulatory compliance may be reflected in the Done criteria of the Product. If the client then recognizes that each Sprint is a project, and presents an opportunity to learn and to maximize product value, there's a chance of things working.
Do they?
