How should I approach Scrum?

Hi!

I am a mechanical engineer with an interest to move into IT. I will be pursuing project management and I needed help on how to move into this dimension with the help of scrum. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

What is your current understanding of a "project", and how it ought to be managed?

In Scrum a Sprint can be seen as a "project", and a team is expected to be self-managing. There is a product rather than a project focus. It's the empirical delivery of valuable product increments, rather than project scheduling and control, which is key.
