Age of Active Sprint Backlog items?
What is meant by " age of active Sprint backlog items"? and how do we determine the age?

Scrum Events, Roles, Artifacts, and Rules are impacted when using Scrum with Kanban. For example, having a clear indicator of the age of active Sprint Backlog items may be beneficial during Daily Scrum, thereby positively impacting the decisions about how to Inspect and Adapt in the next day.

As per my understanding, being more specific with words... active sprint backlogs are the one which are yet to be accomplished in sprint.
and age of active Sprint Backlog indicates how long they exist as active in ongoing sprint.
What is meant by " age of active Sprint backlog items"? and how do we determine the age?
Might this depend upon the workflow policy established by the team?

Age when referring to backlog items usually refers to how long it has been in a state. In this case the keywords are active, Sprint backlog. The Sprint backlog contains the Product backlog items chosen at the beginning of the Sprint to be addressed during that sprint. The team maps the workflow and should determine what "active" means in their workflow. My assumption would be anything after the first column where you put items that have not been started and before the column where you show it no longer requires work. If you know what "active" means on your board, it seems pretty obvious how to determine how long it has been in the active state. You still have to determine what measure you want to use to determine "age" (i.e. minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years).
