Is Scrum for Support/Maintenance Projects ?
Hello,
I am quite new to Scrum and still learning, based on my current understanding I feel that Scum is really best framework to follow but only for the Development projects.
It may not suitable for the Maintenance/Support project. Why ?
I think because of less amount of manageable work and team is not always occupied, they get the work when there is a ticket or change request from users.
In such situation..What would we set up as Sprint Goal? What would we discuss in other events ?
Please comment if you have different opinion & kindly advise how can we adopt it for such projects..
Thanks
Why draw a particular distinction between development and support work? Isn't the applicability of Scrum more to do with the level of complexity? What does the Scrum Guide have to say about this?
I have seen it successful in both worlds. Use what works for your situation. You may also may want to look at a ScrumBan hybrid or plain old Kanban to help you become more Agile. I would actually start with Kanban and map and improve your current process and then possibly use Scrum if the organization is willing to make the change.
