Good evening. Read on LinkIn that Capital One has suspended the entire Agile Delivery team. In reading some of the posts from the affected employees, seems as though the company is open to absorbing them into the corporation as a whole. However, wondering about why the company did not see the value in adopting Agile methodologies across all tiers. May be an interesting case study. Thank you.

"The agile role in our tech organisation was critical to our earlier transformation phases but as our organisation matured, the natural next step is to integrate agile delivery processes directly into our core engineering practices,” says a statement.

Capital One says is inviting affected employees to apply for the hundreds of job openings it has.

In general and for any company, I'd wonder how likely it is that agile practices will be integrated. Can a company be invited to change itself?

  • What sponsorship will be provided to ensure that organizational gravity is overcome?
  • Where is the sense of urgency for deep and pervasive organizational change going to come from?
  • Are senior leadership confident that prospective change agents who apply will not be weeded out?
