Failed Scrum Assessment first time

I do not want to sound too commercial. Although Scrum.org training is not to help you crack the test but it helps you a solid understanding how things work in Scrum. Having a solid understanding about Scrum is much more important than knowing how to answer the assessment.

Firstly don't panic about this, you are not the first and wont be the last.
Its not an easy exam but then again it does give the exam some value.
You don't mention if you have ever attended a course or not even being a Scrum master?
Not saying a course is the answer here but would give an insight to your background and how you became scrum master.

The guide is there as a framework only, but there is much more to it than that.
To put yourself in a good position you should be hitting 100% in the open exams and be able to expand on anything in the scrum guide, remember is a guide so the exam tests how much you can expand that.

You would have got a score so use this score to benchmark where you really are.
Request feedback from scrum.org, they will give it to you but will only contain areas, not the actual answers and questions. Break every part of that guide down and be able to expand it.

Exam the second time around is no different and its not the same questions and answers either.
Study and test yourself everyday for the prep work, take a course if you can, and really get to know the framework as this is what the exam is all about.
There are many great PST on here and PSM people that will help if you are stuck with an expansion.

Thanks for your response. I have attended a few Scrum course offered through my job but none offered by Scrum.org. I became Scrum Master through a contract to hire job, and i've been studying Scrum ever since although no book has giving me the answers to the questions that i encountered on the assessment exam (PSM I).

I will use the advice given and see how much it will help me. And perhaps contacting scrum.org for feedback would be a great start.

Some of the assessment question is from the PSM courseware, so attending the course can help although there is no guarantee that you can pass.

This shows the quality difference between Scrum.org courses and its counterparts. A good information for those who are looking for a Scrum training. :-)

I've been doing Scrum for a few years now , I've never had to have two teams align on single projects , so hardening sprints are something I've never had to contend with. Neither was it covered when I did my CSM , if the suggested reading is going to have direct influences on the questions in an exam then surely they shouldn't simply have it as a suggestion to read it ... I read agile books relating to the challenges I face, some questions relate to issues faced when scaling scrum and hardly questions I would consider relevant for an entry into Scrum as this exam is supposed to be. I could expect that from the CSP
