Hi,

Just wanted to confirm if strictly speaking a scrum master is able to participate in sprint review or just attend (and not participate)?

Thanks.

Based on the Scrum Guide, "During the Sprint Review, the Scrum Team and stakeholders collaborate about what was done in the Spring", and the Scrum Team includes the Scrum Master.

Also, a bullet states "the entire group collaborates on what to do next...".

So I would say Yes to attend AND participate.

Bear in mind that the Scrum Master’s involvement in a Sprint Review may possibly go no further than ensuring that the event takes place and that attendees understand its purpose.

A good Scrum Master is often said to be “invisibly present”. When the entire group collaborates on what to do next, a Scrum Master’s contribution might be seen in the context of revealing and enabling.
