Prove your knowledge of Facilitation Skills

Professional Scrum Facilitation Skills includes questions that test for an understanding of Scrum and how facilitation principles can be leveraged to improve the dynamics of Scrum Events and other interactions.

This isn’t a test of general facilitation skills, but rather how to apply facilitation principles within the context of Scrum.

Questions on the test fall into two broad categories within Facilitation;

  • Facilitation Principles and Values
  • Applying Facilitation Skills and Techniques

These questions are derived from the Scrum Values, Scrum Team, Events, Artifacts, and Facilitation Focus Areas as defined in the Professional Scrum Competencies.

Prior to taking the Professional Scrum Facilitation Skills certification, a great way to prepare is to attend a Professional Scrum Facilitation Skills training course taught by a Scrum.org Professional Scrum Trainer. The course alone may not be sufficient for everyone to pass the PSF Skills certification however, the resources listed on this page will help you to prepare.

How to prepare for the test

  • Take The Facilitation Skills Open
  • Reacquaint yourself with the Scrum Guide as it pertains to the outcomes of Scrum events. While having earned your Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) is not required to take PSF Skills, it is strongly recommended as you will need a strong Scrum foundation to perform well.
  • Read more about Facilitation on Scrum.org.
  • Be sure to focus on Facilitation Techniques for Scrum Events.
  • Study the following topics;
    • Facilitation Principles and Values
    • Applying Facilitation Skills and Techniques
