Introduction to Sprint Planning

Sprint Planning

Every Sprint starts with Sprint Planning where the Scrum Team determines what they plan to accomplish during the course of the Sprint.

During the meeting, the Scrum Team focuses on:

  • The value that can be created during the Sprint
  • Choosing which Product Backlog Items will be addressed during the Sprint
  • Planning the work required to accomplish their goal
  • Planning to create an Increment that meets the Definition of Done

The Scrum Team makes this transparent by creating a Sprint Backlog which includes the Sprint Goal, the selected Product Backlog Items and the Developers’ plan for delivering the work.
