Clients usually only call me when something is wrong. Their teams are not delivering as fluidly as they’d like. Or perhaps they are delivering, but there doesn’t seem to be a connection between what their teams are working on and the overall strategy of the company (...if there even is a strategy).
One event has triggered Technology and Product leaders to reach out to me more than any other, though: They took on a new job.
Sometimes they have been newly promoted into a leadership role at their current company. Other times, they have been hired to lead a team or department at a new company altogether.
Whatever the details, the request usually boils down to the same thing: Can you help me understand my new team? And, what can I do to improve the situation?
Leading with Impact is a still-in-progress book that sets out to help leaders answer those questions.
Luckily for you, I have two AI "friends" who have read the first 3 (beta) chapters! In this BookCast, they talk about what they learned and how you might apply it as a Product or Technology leader who has taken on a new challenge. Let me know what you think!
