Good and practical book and samples about applying Scrum for software development
Hi,
I'm a beginner about Scrum and I'd like to find a good and practical book that also treats some Scrum samples for the software development in order to appreciate Scrum in action near real-world scenarios, preferably by using Azure DevOps (Azure Boards).
Any suggests to me, please?
For the Azure DevOps I have no suggestion.
But for Scrum, one of my first books was
Succeeding with Agile from Mike Cohn
This book includes examples and good recommendations for a transformation.
Also it helped me a lot to understand people not willing to support the transformation.
It gives some practical recommendations like an "Agile Safari".
On top of that I liked:
Coaching Agile Teams from Lyssa Adkins
Besides that for entry level, there is a Scrum.org book series called The Professional Scrum Series.
As far as I know, those are the following titles:
Mastering Professional Scrum (Ockerman, Reindl)
The Professional Agile Leader (Eringa, Bitner, Bonnema)
The Nexus Framework for scaling Scrum (Bittner, Kong, West)
The Professional Product Owner (McGreal, Jocham)
Zombie Scrum Survival Guide (Verwijs, Schartau, Overeem)
The Professional Scrum Team (Götz, Schirmer, Bittner)
From those I really enjoyed The Professional Product Owner.
The rest of them is good and mainly according to the Scrum Guide.
And very suited for all levels.
In my opinion this site, its learning resources, courses, blogs, videos and other publications is the best reading on earth to learn Scrum. You will find links to recommended books by digging deeper.
