Scrum and self-organisation

Hi everyone,

In the Scrum guide we can all read about self organising teams.

I was wondering which part of Scrum enable self-organisation?

There are five uses of the term "self-organizing" within The Scrum Guide which is the definitive document containing the rules. The definitions of a Scrum Team and a Development Team provide the empowerment to determine how to accomplish their work without being directed by those outside the respective teams. Specifically the Sprint Planning and Daily Scrum events are reference the goal of self-organizing behavior. Implicitly the Sprint Retrospective requires self-organization in order to inspect and adapt toward improvement.

More generally, the fact that Scrum is a framework that does not dictate specific processes enables (requires) self-organization. The ability to insert or overlay (without violations of the rules) any techniques that work best for each independent instance is a vital part of Scrum's power.
