Calrifiation on Sprint back log
Hi All,
I have a few doubts on sprint backlog from the guide.
1)Scope can be re negotiated with the PO during the sprint?May I know what it exactly means
2)Dev team can change sprint backlog through out the sprint?Sprint backlog is not only tasks/work ,guide states its PBI's and plan to deliver .so only work can be changed as per my understanding, but guide says entire sprint backlog can be changed during the sprint. Can some one clarify on this?
Thank you
shalini
Hi Salini,
The Sprint backlog is owned and controlled by the Development Team. During a sprint, only they can change it.
If the Development Team or Product Owner feels that there is now a more important priority or that there is a task that is in danger of not being completed, they can have a conversation on how this should be dealt with. The Product Owner and the team can negotiate which tasks should stay and which should go, as long as it does not endanger the Sprint Goal. If the team agrees, the backlog will be changed.
Remember, a Sprint Backlog is not just a list of work tasks, it also contains the plan for getting the work completed.
I'll just add, "getting the work completed" = "the plan to deliver the done product increment".
Thank you
