PO Focus Area
Building the "Right Thing" and Building the "thing Right".::
Can someone help me to understand the above concepts with to the point examples.
Thanks in advance,
Shuvradeep
Building the “right thing” is building something that solves the customers/users problem.
If I live in the country and I want to travel to the nearest town each day (20 miles away), the “right thing” might be a car. An example of the wrong thing might be a pogo-stick (although it might technically solve the problem, it’s not a very good way of solving it) or more extreme a xylophone (which simply does nothing to solve the problem).
Building the “thing right” would in this example mean building the car properly so it's fit for purpose in practice as well as in theory; making sure it doesn’t break down, the wheels don’t fall off, etc. This is more focussed on quality, architecture and arguably also things like business/client interactions if they would also be deemed part of the solution, as well as other similar attributes.
Many Thanks. Actually i am preparing for PO by self Study.
