Is ScrumDesk application good?

hi friends

i have downloaded the Scrum desk application (free version) to practice the scrum methods of doing projects. Since the installation, two times my computer froze it should not be as its runs on windows 8 and its up-to-date. So at the moment i've stopped using the app.

1. i wonder anyone your fellows had this problem? Is this application reliable in terms of making your computer unstable or installing any malware?

2. the application provides two modes, a local project creation and web hosted project creation. Whats your favorite method of hosting, if you are a learner?
