Being Scrum Master with no software development background?
Hello every one,
I understand that software developmement is not the only domain where Scrum can be used, but still it's the main area where it still is used. So I was wondering if any one can share an experience, or give insights about how an individual with no software development background, convinced by the framework, can make it as a scrum master.
@saad ziadi The role of Scrum Master basically focuses on supporting team excellence and processes improvement. The understanding of the Scrum Master role and the basic team language regardless of software technical skills is what matters. For example, as Scrum Master I need to understand how my role supports the Product Owner, Developers and pick up basic software terminology to be an effective serving leader. The scrum guide, Agile Manifesto, scrum team terminology and project management knowledge are needed tenets for becoming a great Scrum Master. I am currently job-positioned to shadow a scrum team developing point of sale terminals without software technical skills.
