PSPO 1 Vs PSPO 2 - Complexity differentiation
Hello All,
I secured the PSM1 certification a few days ago with 95%. My ultimate objective, and also my current role is of a product owner. So I intend to go until PSPO2.
Now, without a prescribed curriculum for PSPO, I wish to know the level of preparation required for PSPO 1 in comparison to PSPO2. Is it like, all topics necessary for PSPO 2 are also required for PSPO1, but with lesser complexity or is there something required exclusively for PSPO2 which may not be touched upon in PSPO1.
I also think, all the reference books for a product owner quoted in this forum and elsewhere, prepare us for both PSPO 1&2. Correct?
Dear Dilip, I'm also in a similar situation like you. Being a 3 years old question, do you have clarity towards your own question now? That will help me and many others a lot for sure.
In my opinion PSPO 1 exam is more difficult than the PSM 1, in that it requires knowledge on more areas of scrum. See the Product Owner Learning path here: https://www.scrum.org/pathway/product-owner-learning-path/ and compare it to the corresponding Scrum Master Learning Path.
The main thing is to get your Product Owner hat on when studying and doing the exam. Note many of the question are the same or similar to PSM 1.
The book The Professional Product Owner (Green book)Authors: Don McGreal & Ralph Jocham is great and do as many mock tests as possible.
Good luck!
