Daily Scrum plan for next 24hrs ?
"The Daily Scrum is a 15-minute time-boxed event for the Development Team to synchronize activities and create a plan for the next 24 hours". Does Scrum framework think that development team is supposed/expect to work 24 hrs ?. Labour laws in some countries only allow 8hrs ,if you are planning for next 24hrs you are indirectly / unconsciously forcing development team to do more work. the work window may be 8hrs but planning is 24hrs,mindset of management may think dev team had 24 hrs to do work but in actuality its even less than 8hrs.
Jayshree,
The intent is for the team to discuss what they hope to accomplish between that moment in time and the next Daily Scrum, which should occur 24 hours later. In no way is the statement intended to violate labor laws, or require Scrum Team members to work any more than a comfortable period of time that can be replicated day to day.
Hi Jayshree,
As Tim mentioned, Daily Scrum is intended to discuss progress since last daily scrum, plan or tasks that team intends to accomplish within the next business day i.e. till the next daily scrum meeting and any impediments and roadblocks that they may be facing that may prevent them from making progress towards meeting the sprint goal. It is not at all intended to cause any unreasonable burden on teams - all the standard business, labor laws and corporate rules apply. Hope this help.
