Passed PSM I and PSPO I, some study tips!!!
First I would like to say a very big thank you to this forum, that helped me a lot to understand Scrum.
PSM 1 (94% on my first try)
PSPO 1 (88% on my first try)
My path:
A) http://scrumtrainingseries.com/
B) http://agilevideos.com/videoscategory/intro-to-scrum-videos/
(Note: If don't have the scrum experience or starting new without any coaching class then these resource will be helpful to understand the basic concepts)
PSM 1 Assessment
1) Read and understand Scrum Guide.
2) All Scrum Open Assessments.
3) Scrum.org Forums.
4) http://mlapshin.com/index.php/psm-quiz/
PSPO 1 Assessment
1) All above step for PSM I
2) Scrum - A Pocket Guide (Gunther Verheyen)
3) http://www.scrumcrazy.com/The+New+New+Product+Owner
Also found these books very helpful to me
Agile Project Management with Scrum (Ken Schwaber)
Agile Product Management with Scrum (Roman Pichler)
Confession of a serial product owner (Anna Forss)
Recently I found this book "A Pocket Guide to Passing Professional Scrum Master (PSM 1)" by Mohammed Soukath Ali, which looks to be very good summarized for PSM I. It includes some sample question also.
Thanks for sharing. I am starting my study towards this PSM I Certification.
Passed SPS Assessment (95%): My Study Tips!!!
1) Read and understand Nexus Guide.
2) All Scrum.org Open Assessments. (Scrum Open, Nexus Open, Product Owner Open & Developer Open)
3) Practical scaling experience will be helpful otherwise try to understand real scenarios by reading some books like "The Enterprise and Scrum by Ken Schwaber".
Congrats ! Thanks for your tips !
I failed my first PSPO I attempt at 82.5%. Looking to further my studies with Roman Pichler's book "Agile Product Management with Scrum" (2010). But it is no longer listed on the suggested readings for PSPO. I wonder if anything has changed.
Thanks for tips and ideas on this thread. Going to prepare for next attempt.
PO aims to maximize value of product or increment. So can I say that measuring or tracking Development Team's velocity does not contribute to "value"?
Hi, Vinay
You've written about Agile Product Management with Scrum (Roman Pichler) book, definitely agree with you. One of the best (personally I think the best) book for Product Owners.
Wanted to take pspo1 assessment by this weekend. Suggest me some good resources for good results.
Vinay,
Thank you for sharing and I appreciate it. I am planning to pass my PSM I exam in 2 weeks. Quick question- Is the exam question format similar to open assessment? or it is like PMP question? any help is highly appreciated.
