Passed PSM I @ first outing

I got my password, yet wondering to attempt. After all 150 is big money for me.

I kind of prepared very well
- Read through scrum guide multiple times
- consistently scoring 100% in open
- Went through scrum guide. Especially understood manythings not found in scrum guide

Congrats on passing the PSM 1, I would advise not jumping straight into the PSM 2 until you have had a chance to gain some experience of working in an Professional Scrum environment, I am keen to stress Professional Scrum, as in not just the motions (e.g. doing the ceremonies) but the principles in which Professional scrum is aligned to.

The scrum guide is a very powerful document when you look deeper, although it shows the very framework of Scrum it also throughout identifies the principles of why and what we are trying to achieve and is very keen on keeping away from the how, as the expression says "many ways to skin a cat" and is why it is effective.

There is a key reason why the PSM 2 / PSE has only been achieved by just over 250 people and is considered very hard, I was very fortunate to PSM 2 a few years ago after being part of some great teams however since I have really had an opportunity to understand what doing Professional Scrum is really about and although understanding and working to the principles I had/have a long way before being truly Professional.

Just to give you a bit of heads up there is a new exam being introduced this is positioned between PSM 1 / PSM and PSM2 / PSE called Professional Scrum Practitioner (PSP) which I have just taken, and is a good next step from PSM 1 with regards to the natural transition from understanding the framework to moving to the principles it sits upon.

I agree with Aaron on the fact that the next step after PSM 1 is probably PSP and then PSM 2.
PSPO is usefull to understand "why" and not only "how" to apply the framework.

I am a great fan of Scrum.org and have taken PSM,SPS and PSPO so far..
I am an Agile coach in my organization- yet I would like to understand Ken's Plan on making Scrum. Org reach in India as well. I see many are taking certifications from Scrum Alliance and have no clue about Scrum.org.

As a professional Scrum Masters we know the value but how are we planning to spread this word and plan for workshops in India?

What contributions are expected from a member like me. The intention behind this should be spreading the awareness of real value and encouraging people to get genuine knowledge isn't it?

What are the growth plans?/Are we expanding our partners/training partners.

I was able to pass the PSM 1 exam on first attempt. The SCRUM guide was well written and helpful. In addition to consistently scoring 100% on the PSM1 open assessment, I found the free videos at this web site to be very helpful in providing a great overview of Scrum concepts: http://scrumtrainingseries.com/

Venkatesh I completely agree with your statements & same inputs I have given to Simon Kneafsey (a PST) as well as to Eric Naiburg (Marketing incharge of Scrum.org) in the group "Scaled Professional Scrum & The Nexus Framework (Scrum.org)" conversation. There is lot of buzz about Scrum.org certifications in recent time due to different discount offers/promotions, but lot needs to be done by Scrum.org.
