Daily Scrum
Who is referred to as others here ‘If others are present, the Scrum Master ensures that they do not disrupt the meeting.’
Others cn be anyone, as long as they are the preverbial fly on the wall...
A good example is the Product Owner who might be present. This is not uncommon. The PO may want some direct insights into progress. But.... The PO is not a real participant, since it is the Dev team doing the Daily. So if the PO interferes the process, this has to be addressed. PO actively participating is not uncommon, and if the PO is really contributing I personally have no problem with it (for me personally it is not that black & white), but the PO is one of the "others" who can be present.
Also, stakeholders and management can also be "others".
In essence; teh Daily is no secret meeting where no others can be present, but there is only 1 purpose, for the Dev team, and for no one else!
