Passed the PSM 1 certification with 90% on the 1st try
First, thanks to all who provided PSM 1 study tips on this forum.
I just passed the PSM 1 certification on the first try with 90%. PTL
It is a little tricky.
My company paid for a Scrum Master 2 day course from Agility-In-Mind which provided a good understanding of how to apply the Scrum theory in real world settings.
However the following are items I used.
Prep Tips:
- Read the Scrum Guide at least 5 times highlighting items that you see on the Scrum.org Open Assessments.
- Read the Scrum Glossary until you know the definitions
- Take all 3 (Scrum Master, Product Owner & Developer) Open Assessments on Scrum.Org until you get 100% right consistently in 5 minutes for each test.
- Take http://mlapshin.com/index.php/scrum-quizzes/ in learning and real mode until you get 100%.
- Take the Scrum Master and/or Developer Open Assessments right before writing the exam. It will boost you confidence in what you think you know and some of the question are on the exam.
During the exam:
* Read the questions carefully. Sometimes what you studied was the "NOT" questions and answers but the real exam ask you to select the "Best"
* Bookmark but answer the questions that you are not sure of.
*DO NOT hit the "SAVE & Finish" button at Question 80 OR when you return to the Bookmark question unless you are absolutely sure you are done.
I hit Saved when reviewing my first bookmark question and that actually submitted the test. I'm glad I had answered all the bookmarked question with my best guess when I was going thru the test. Otherwise those would have been incomplete and therefore wrong answers.
Hope this helps
