Give Thanks for Scrum

November 26, 2024

Scrum has had a world-changing history that includes impacting the work of tens of millions of people.
In the present day the Scrum framework is well-understood, and now is in the late stages of its own development. The future is always spotless.  What happens next?

Is there a role for Scrum in our future? And if so, what role will the Scrum framework play in the world of tomorrow?
All things continue to change and suddenly, Scrum is part of what we might call “legacy agility”. Scrum itself is at a fork in the road.  Are empirical processes like Scrum the new normal?  Is the idea of very-frequent inspection valued and now a natural part of doing business?

Or with the recent layoffs of many Scrum Masters, agile coaches and consultants across the industry, are we going backwards?
Does Scrum itself need to adapt? And if so, How?
At our 16th annual event in November 2024, we will answer these questions as we explore our 2024 theme: THE FUTURE OF SCRUM?

You may not know that Scrum was born in Boston and thus it is very appropriate that our local community tackle what the future of Scrum is, with the co-creator of Scrum Dr. Jeff Sutherland and the CEO of Scrum.org, a company founded by co-creator of Scrum Ken Schwaber, Dave West.
