Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is a 2-day course that covers the principles and (empirical) process theory underpinning the Scrum framework, and the role of the Scrum Master in it. This course is a combination of instruction and team-based exercises and teaches what is at the heart of the Scrum and Agile movement.

Over the two days, students will see why PSM is the cutting-edge course for effective Scrum Masters and anyone coaching a software development team toward increased efficiency and effectiveness. The course includes advanced thinking for servant-leadership and behavioral shifts.

Throughout the course, students are challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace.The PSM course is much more than just a set of slides and an instructor. In this course, students work on real-life cases with other classmates together as a team. This course is made up of discussions and hands-on exercises based upon real-life cases.

The course covers all the topics related to Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I), Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) and Professional Scrum Master III (PSM III) certification assessments.

The price includes course materials, the PSM I assessment and certification and a discount on the PSM II assessment.

How do I achieve the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification?
The PSM I certification is achieved by taking and passing an online assessment in your own time following the course. It can be taken from any internet connected computer.

What is required to achieve the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification?
The PSM I assessment is comprised of 80 multiple choice questions that must be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 85%.

What are the course hours?
Courses start at 09:00 AM and finish at 5:00 PM each day.

How should I prepare for the course?
The only preparation required is to read the Scrum Guide.

More Information

John Gillespie is a Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org and a successful technology entrepreneur having founded and led several Information Technology businesses.  He sold one of these technology ventures to Perficient Inc.  (NASDAQ: PRFT) in January 2000.  Mr. Gillespie’s experience includes positions of increasing responsibility in Fortune 500 companies, including General Electric, Fleet Bank and Hartford Financial Services along with serving as Chief Technology Officer for FAIR Health where he led the start-up and initiation of data services to over 700 customers.

In each of his positions, John was responsible for technical delivery and has focused on technical delivery using Scrum, and Kanban since 2005.

Since 2011, John has focused exclusively on coaching large enterprises on the adoption of Agile/Lean methods.  John earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Master of Science in Computer Science, and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
