In other words, a developer is not only a software developer. It is every person who is part of the development of something. Sometimes this is software, sometimes that is a plane, sometimes it is a marketing campaign, sometimes it is…
So let’s bust this myth that a developer equals a software developer. It’s not. As soon as you are part of designing, analysing, validating, building, etc. a product or service, then according to the Scrum framework, you are considered a developer, and part of the Scrum Team.
If people who help build your product by designing, analysing, testing, etc. are not part of the Scrum Team, then an essential skill is missing in your team which will reduce the overall value and results you can realise.
Think about it. Check the skills your team members have. Are you missing an essential element in your team?
