Consolidation of use cases on single website

Hi all, I'm looking for some case studies or research on the following. We have two different websites that each serve a different use case. It's for the same user but at a different stage in their workflow. Each website has its own KPI which is extremely important. We are thinking about merging the two websites into one website so we can serve our user better. However, we cannot underperform on any of the two KPIs. On the new website there is less than 100% focus on each use case, so some people here fear that the KPIs will be negatively affected. I'm looking for proof that this is not the case, that due to synergy the KPIs may even improve. Or be proven otherwise... Any suggestions?

Rose, your question is somewhat light on details. Perhaps if you provided more context, you may get some feedback.

- What KPI's do you measure on each web site?

- Why are the KPI's important? What information do they provide to the organization?

- Why would there be less than 100% focus in the new web site? How was this conclusion arrived at?

- What benefits would be provided by merging the two web sites?

- Would the approach be to merge the two web sites into a third "consolidated" web site, or to elevate one of the web sites as the "main" one?

- Can a small sample of use cases be used as a pilot to measure the benefit of using one web site?
