Can an End to End Process Owner be a Product Owner

Many organisations encounter a situation where there is a desired outcome that is a result of multiple cross function processes carried out by different teams and across different systems.
This can make it difficult to ensure that the process is followed by all in a timely manner to result in an effective and efficient outcome. As a response some organisations appoint one person that is given ownership of this process from an end to end presepctive.
It is challenging for the person to ensure the teams follow what they need to do as they all have different reporting lines, As an example of a process it could be in an online retailer ensuring that the product gets to the website available for customers to buy as quickly as possible from sourcing the product from suppliers to making stock available and content available on the website.
In this instance can the end to end process owner take on the role of a product owner if an organisation moves to Agile process ?

How well could empirical process control be established in the instance you describe? A Product Owner would care more about evidence based value, and timely inspection and adaptation, than about lines of reporting.
Just thinking aloud ...We could determine a baseline based on how long it takes for a product to get to the website ready for customers to buy it if all systems and processes worked as expected. The average daily sales can be the value delivered
The Product Owner could have a vision of how quickly certain products can be made online and based on this have a backlog to either improve the processes or the systems that could help achieve this ?
Definitely an End to End Process Owner would be a good candidate to be a Product Owner but good is not ideal. The ideal one should have the skills and competencies described here https://www.scrum.org/pathway/product-owner-learning-path and here https://www.scrum.org/professional-scrum-competencies. An End to End Process Owner would be one of the many stakeholders a Product Owner would have to interact with.
