What is a Product Roadmap?

A product roadmap is a visual aid technique that a Scrum Team can use to share and discuss what is upcoming for the product at a high-level. Usually, a roadmap consists of the potential Product Goals and can include Product Backlog items that relate to those goals. This information feeds into a Scrum Team’s Product Backlog.

A product roadmap captures the high-level direction of a product. It should minimally consist of customer-driven outcomes and potential experiments to achieve those outcomes. There should be an indication of order, but it does not need to have specific dates or timeframes.
