Excellent classes helped revised the framework and the concepts within it!

I recently attended a PSPO class given by Jim Sammons, and I found it to be both energetic and well-balanced. Jim provided a lot of true-to-life examples, which gave us really good insights into the subject matter. The class had a nice mixture of lectures and breakout sessions, making it engaging and interactive. Additionally, it was great to receive guidelines on how to approach the exam, which I found very helpful.

The course was chocked full of amazing content. Jim did an excellent job of allowing enough time to discuss the concepts and principles while also moving us through the course and making sure we were fully prepped for the exam, passed on my first try!

Jim was great at delivering the information in a fun and engaging way. I liked the simulations and the live walk through the data analysis screens and metrics. I’m looking forward to my next role where I will be able to apply this knowledge I’ve learned. I can’t wait to take more classes with Jim in the future!

Jim presented the material engagingly and interactively through his relatable, entertaining stories, making complex concepts easy to understand. Learning was engaging and interactive in breakout room activities for a "hands-on" approach to reinforce the concepts. I highly recommend attending his training sessions!

If you are not already excited about Agile, Lean, or Kanban concepts, Jim's presentation, stories, and activities will make this information easy to understand and apply to your work, teams, and other aspects of your life. He is able to take, what some consider, relatively dry information and present it in a way that's not only informative but also engaging and easy to remember. You can not go wrong with attending his training sessions!

I entered the class as an "Agile newby", with very little previous knowledge of Scrum concepts. Jim's class was extremely well-organized, engaging, and collaborative. I walked away with a firm understanding of the concepts and tenets of professional Scrum and a ton of ideas on how to apply them in my industrial workplace.

The Facilitation Techniques

I appreciated the real-world stories Chris and Jim shared throughout the class. It really helped make concepts more tangible and gave me ideas for how I might approach my own challenges.

The instructors were very engaging. The environment was comfortable, enlightening, and very informative.

Jim did a great job with the PSPO I class, and it was a lot more beneficial because of great discussion, debate, and collaboration between the participants. Much better than my experience in Jim's PSM I class, where the class atmosphere wasn't as strong (due to a lack of participation). Jim tries to keep you on your toes and encourage you to think critically about things. I'm sure I will have another class for another certification (and learning experience) in the future.

Jim Sammons did a wonderful job covering PSPO. He provided us ample resources and activities utilizing Mural, which is a great tool to use with colleagues and teams. (I appreciated the refresher with Mural!) The PSPO course really brought a lot of Agile and Scrum concepts together for me that I hadn't yet fully synthesized from the other courses. Great learning experience! Jim's approach makes you want to participate which I think really helps you learn more and build connections. The activities and follow-up discussions referencing specifics from the Scrum guide closed the loop on many questions I had going into the class.

Jim is a very knowledgeable and a personable trainer. He listens to his class and teaches the class with some levity and lets some laughter happen. He is NOT so dry and strict like many instructors. He made long nights enjoyable.

Jim's approach to the class keeps it simple, engaged, and the use of mural and other artifacts helps bring the theory to reality. In-class participation makes it even better.

Excellent examples and breakout sessions. This isn't a dry walkthru of a powerpoint. This is an interactive, thought provoking exercise that really prepares you. I feel good about my prep for the exam and feel I have things I can take back to my everyday job.

Jim's style of teaching was superb, easy to follow and fun. He knows how to challenge without frustrating and clarify everything as we need it. It was a really great class!

We had a very engaged and interactive team of people in our class, which definitely adds to the experience. Our instructor was very knowledgeable about Scrum and had great experience in the field. One suggestion I have is to focus more on exam specific details as all the added "scrum but" or "scrum and" caused some confusion on what we have to know for the exam. Overall, I am glad that I took the course as I have a better understanding of Scrum.

The class was a mixture of real life examples of good and bad experiences, interactive breakout sessions getting all students involved, and some information acquisition with slides and visuals. This really led to a diverse learning module that played on different strengths of the learners involved. The trainer was easy to listen to and allowed for natural conversations to happen.

Kept me intrigued and the activities were interesting. There was a lot to fit into two days but I think it was done masterfully.

Learned a lot of super helpful information

Jim was an excellent instructor. I loved the chance to put scrum into action with the little mini project--that was the best way to learn. He had excellent examples to illustrate each of the points that he made. He was also able to deftly field questions posed by people in our business. We were able to immediately come back an implement what we learned.

The class is very well designed. Jim has been doing an outstanding job providing real-world examples to accompany some of the more fuzzy theoretical/philosophical aspects of agile and scrum. I learned a lot and I especially appreciate the tools I've been exposed to (like EBM and team maturity ranking) and the prism through that I should be thinking about future situations. Jim ensures the leadership team had tons of conversations, which helped us to get aligned on a large number of topics which were up for debate until then. Also a good balance between activities, conversations, practical use cases and theory

I got so much out of this course! I took the Professional Scrum Foundations course last year and this was a great course to build on top of that learning and take things to a deeper level. Jim did a great job keeping us on course while allowing for plenty of class participation, engagement, and discussion as we worked our way through tough questions. At the end of each day, the class provided feedback and it was awesome to see how Jim adapted and really listened to our feedback requests. Each class was well prepared and flowed nicely from topic to topic. I loved all of the learning activities and was pleasantly surprised with how smoothly and collaborative it was as a remote course. I just experienced the power of Martin Hinshelwood & Jim Sammons during a PAL-e private training class. As a leader within an organization that is about to begin an agile evolution, I'll be honest - I was skeptical that our group would get much out of this training session; however, I was proven wrong after the first day. So much so that this class and its' content is now referenced in many of our other leadership meetings. Martin & Jim provided just the right amount of facilitation and guidance to help our group to open up and dig into topics that had been 'floating on the surface'. Our team knows we have a long road a head of us, but having the skills from the PAL-e class in our pockets makes the weight that we have to carry as leaders feel like less.

Attending the Virtual PSF Training wasvery insightful and educational. Some parts were fast paced and other areas were slower. THe variety of backgrounds that attended demonstrated how different an individual thinks. Chris and Lynzi were helpful as coordinators and SCRUM Masters. I would receommend this class for anyone who wants a grasp at the foundational and may be further their studies with SCRUM.

This course, taught by Jim Sammons, is really an excellent foundation for anyone working in a Scrum team. Jim was super prepared, had a ton of experiences to share and draw from, and taught the course with the goal of preparing participants for real life Scrum situations and scenarios, in addition to preparing them for the certification. I feel that Jim used the online tools available very well, and worked hard to be proactive on any issues, and to cover any downsides or weaknesses of the tools. It was immediately apparent the effort that Jim put into connecting with individual participants during this course. In COVID times, it's easy to forget the importance of finding new, creative ways to connect with faces over video chat, but it really made the course feel more real and more engaging. I really hope the next Scrum course I take has Jim as an instructor.

Informative, Interactive & Personalized! I thoroughly enjoyed the personal examples that both Jim Sammons & Chris Conlin shared - as well as their ability to involve the class for viewpoints across different industries. Although this was virtual (#covid) - I did not feel like the instructors or attendees missed a beat - we enjoyed break out sessions, discussions, and had the ability to utilize online tools for collaboration. I had been looking forward to this course for a while, and it did not disappoint!

The class was great. The instructors were fun and energetic. I felt at ease asking questions and participating in a subject that I have never done. The mural boards were fun, some of the frames did not lock in place so there was a tug of war game going on sometimes. The side chatter in MS teams was a little distracting. I had a great time. I learned a lot from the slides and breakouts. We all were given great pretest materials and other outlets to pursue our Scrum interests. I would recommend this class to all my peers.

Jim & Rick did a wonderful job of providing a nice overview of the foundations of agile & scrum. By combining stories, theory and thoughtful classroom exercises, they took the words 'agile' and 'scrum' and made them real and practical. The hands-on exercises were easy to achieve even while learning virtually in a public class. I'm excited to bring this knowledge back to my team!

The teachers were fantastic. Clearly they enjoyed teaching the material and were very knowledgeable. I especially appreciated how much they drew from real-world experiences. I think they did a great job presenting an overview of all the topics and provided ample time to dive deeper into particularly relevant specifics when they came up.

Being able to complete the course virtually was such a plus. I was really happy to take the course over 4 half days instead of 2 long full days. It was a lot of information to take in and the half days prevented fatigue. The instructors did a great job!!

Jim kept the class engaged by utilizing many hands on activities, from which I learn best. He was able to explain all the methodologies well, and had a great personality. Free breakfast and lunch was also a big plus.

The PSF is an excellent class. Really engaging and self-explanatory compared to other process-based classes I've attended.

Jim's class was outstanding. So much great information in the class, and Jim did an amazing job explaining it. My whole team was in the class and he was very responsive to all the specific questions we had on scrum and how we should be using it for our team. There was not one part of the class that I felt was not useful. The hands on activities were great and kept us all engage. I feel that we are now prepared to take this back and make the improvements and changes that we need for our team and talk to our organization about what we have learned. Couldn't ask for a more productive 2 days! I now can't wait to take the Product Owner class and learn more.
