Is "Sprint" an scrum event too. googling only shows there are four

Hey Waheed , the Sprint is the heart of scrum , Sprint contain and consist of : 

The Sprint planning , Daily Scrum ,the sprint review , And Sprint retrospective . However, Each , Sprint considered a  project with no more than a one-month horizon . 



You may read back the Scrum guide to find these info which you shall now , 

so not confuse you Sprint is just the heart of Scrum , and this heart has 4 ways to be alive , skip any of it means you're not doing Scrum . 

Yes, I believe the Sprint is generally understood to be an event. But when I looked at the Scrum Guide to help answer this question, I felt the guide isn't as clear as it could be.

The use of "other than" does imply that the Sprint is an event.

The sprint is considered an Event. In the Scrum Guide under the Scrum Events section, the first thing listed is the Sprint. If it was not considered an event, it would not list it here.

All due respect to you Saleh, this is incorrect. This comment sends the message that the Sprint is not an event, which is incorrect. The Scrum Guide says "Sprints MAY be considered a project" but that is only to help explain the purpose of the Sprint Event itself. Just like a project, you need to produce something in a Sprint. The Sprint is absolutely a Scrum Event, not "just the heart of Scrum".

Thank you Curtis , As I understood Sprint is the container of the 4 events in Scrum to Inspect and  Adopt and provide Transparency through the Sprint itself  , which may consider the Sprint is a Mini-Project  .

Like other events in Scrum, the Sprint is time-boxed.

The Sprint is the container for the other events, but the sprint is a specific event itself as well. Without the sprint, you don't have scrum. Just like you don't have Scrum if you don't have the Daily Scrum, Review, Retro, or Planning events.

I like to think of it more that the Sprint is the Main Event, you cannot have the other events without the Sprint. Each of the other events compliment the Sprint. The Planning creates the map of what to do, the Daily Scrum keeps the team together and on the same page, The Review is a chance to take a step back and look at what is being worked on, the Retrospective is the time to look back at what was completed. Keep in mind, there is a great deal more that actually happens in each of these events, this is just a "post-it" notes version of how they compliment the Sprint overall. 

Scrum combines four formal events for inspection and adaptation within a containing event, the Sprint. These events work because they implement the empirical Scrum pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaptation.

No, "Sprint" is not counted as one of the four Scrum events. Instead, it's like the main action time where the team does the actual work. The four events are Planning, Daily Check-in, Review, and Reflection. Sprint is more of the working phase within the Scrum process. 

Yes, The Sprint is an Event. If you explore the Scrum Guide you will see it listed as the first of the 5 Events with a call out to being "fixed length events" in it's description...

The Sprint

Sprints are the heartbeat of Scrum, where ideas are turned into value.

They are fixed length events of one month or less to create consistency.

There are five, plain and simple. It actually literally saying that in the Scrum guide, that Sprint itself is a Scrum event
